Liem writes:
“Time flies when you’re having babies and stuff. After such positive feedback from my last mix, “rockandsoulbaby”, I thought I’d put together a Part 2. The lines between musical genres can be so blurry and this mix exemplifies that to me. Hope you all enjoy this mix as much as I did making it.

Fresh TV Graffiti (pandamonium)

June 18th, 2012 by sawtay · Adrian Hayles, Behind the Front

After completing the Bamboo Forest mural, our friend Tom asked that the garage door be painted in a similar fashion. Adrian took the following factors into consideration; the Kensington Community School children who will be the primary viewers , the bamboo elements, and his desire to contribute to Toronto’s graffiti community by creating ground breaking art at street level. This is what Adrian came up with.

After six years of active service, the Kensington Market Garden Car has been put to pasture. Its recent retirement has given way to the new generation Garden Car. Painted by Adrian Hayles (of adrianhaylesproductions.com) and Erin Zimerman, the new Garden Car is in fact an incarnation of the ol’ garden car. We would like to thank the Kensington Market BIA’s Yvonne Bambrick for her diligence and dedication. We’d like to thank Eric for his knowledge, creativity, and competence.

Bamboo Bike Studio, Toronto

June 18th, 2012 by sawtay · Adrian Hayles

Our friends at Bamboo Bike Studio in Kensington Market commissioned this piece that reads “Bamboo Bikes”. They Saw the other bamboo mural and thought it would be cool do a graffiti version or as they put it “something cool”. Adrian officially loves painting garage doors. There is nothing better than a canvas that moves up and down to suit your needs. Chuck Close has the right idea.

Ryerson DMZ Chalk Art

June 18th, 2012 by sawtay · Adrian Hayles, Behind the Front

Adrian was recently contacted by Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone who was in need of an artist that could create some illustrations for their 23′x1.5′ chalk board that reflected the departments atmosphere. The challenge presented was being able to apply Adrian’s illustrative style using chalk as the medium. The outcome was better than Adrian or the DMZ expected. Adrian later found out that the illustrations were commissioned in preparation for Prince Charles’ visit to the DMZ.

The word is spreading about Adrian Hayles’ creative contributions to Toronto’s inner city communities, and the locals are excited to get a personal piece of art for there living space. Adrian has painted this mural for a Kensington resident who commissioned him to create a piece that will extent his interior living space out to his exterior living space. Mission accomplished.

Thymeless Longboard Series – Adrian Hayles x Longboard Living

March 14th, 2012 by sawtay · Adrian Hayles, Behind the Front, Events

In collaboration with Adrian ‘Sawtay’ Hayles, we have developed the Ball Point Series. Originally designed on raw wood longboards with ball point pen, Adrian used the architecture of Toronto’s landmark buildings as letters in the word “Toronto”. This became part of a limited edition run of 100 “Toronto” Thymeless decks by Longboard Living. The Series moved to another city very close to both of us, New York. The New York / Toronto Longboard communities are very culturally rich and dependent on the amazing environments and people that surround us. The “New York” signature design will be available in a limited edition run of 50 1″ drop, symmetrical free ride / downhill / commute deck on February 24th during Longboard Living x Adrian Hayles: NYC EDITION @ Uncle Funky’s
